The Lone Swordsman

K.K.'s FAQ

-Because even though you didn't ask, I'm going to explain

Q: How long does it take to do each page?

A: Ah, now that depends. It only takes about an hour per page for me to sketch, draw and color (I'm a pretty quick artist) but certain scenes take up to three hours. When I only had a fingerpad (for the first donation sketch) it took four ridiculous hours.

Q: What is the hardest thing to draw?

A: The hardest things to draw are, surprisingly, not action scenes, but weird stuff, like closeups where the expression is a hard one (Dammit, Sol. "Shock?" He ends up with a "WTF" expresssion...) Also, I still suck at backgrounds, and don't expect that to get better soon.

Q: Who's your favorite character to draw/least favorite?

A: Favorite is Shutendoji. He's so spiky and complicated, so you'd think that would be a strange choice, but he looks so awesome, I don't care. The least favorite? Hmm... Aven and The Lone Swordsman are annoying. They're so basic, if I screw something up, everyone will notice... it's total pants.

Q: Where do you get the character designs?

A: Sol's descriptions are vague sometimes, so a lot of it is trial and error. Luckily, I draw (almost crazily) fast. I'm a pretty big anime fan, so the style leans towards anime that I've currently watched (so it changes every once in a while when I see something good)

Q: Can I commission you to do a drawing?

A: If you can offer me the cash. Post in the forum.

Q: How can I support the webcomic + the hardworking guys behind it?

A: Donate, donate, donate.

Q: What are your favorite things?

A: (already revealed in various places on the site) Anime, Video Games (RPG's!) and Death Metal Music. Also, drawing. Not so obvious - I write as a hobby, and keep about two or three fantasy sports teams running at once. I'm what you call "well rounded"

Q: What's going to happen in the story?

A: Sol's keeping that so secret, even I don't know.

Sol's FAQ

Q: Why do you keep secrets about the story from even K.K.?

A: It keeps him interested. He gets an entire chapters storyboards when he completes a chapter, so if he wants to know what happens next, he has to draw the comics.

Q: What is this "beta" testing you have referred to a couple of times?

A: The comic was originally written in all words, in a novel format. Like K.K., I'm a writer by hobby. The "beta" testing was when I showed my original work to other people. Which is why some people know quite a bit about what's going to happen, but not everything. I ask that these people not ruin it for the other readers.

Q: Do you miss colouring the comic?

A: A little bit, but K.K. is a LOT better at it than I am. I'm a lot more proud of what we offer now in terms of quality. Plus, it gives me time to work on my RPG websites.

Q: I want to donate, but I can't figure out where to go?

A: It is rare, but there are a few instances of the donations banner that appears on the right side of the comic not appearing for some people. Both times I've seen it happen, it was on Internet Explorer, however my IE can see it just fine. If you are one of the select few who cannot see the donations banner, the donations page can be found here.

Q: How much would you charge to advertise on your site?

A: Currently I'd only charge $5 USD a month. That's pretty cheap advertising. I also plan on selling some ad space through Project Wonderful, but I still haven't recieved my code for that yet <.<.

Q: Your comic isn't very funny, why is that?

A: There are a lot of comics and anime that aren't humour based. This is one of them. But there will be the occasional comic relief moments/villians.

Q: Who is your favorite character?

A: Lone is the character I can relate to the most, but my favorite character is one that makes his first appearance in Chapter 1 Page 20, currently known as "The Mysterious Second in Command." Most of my favorite characters will not appear till Part 2.

Q: How many Parts are there in total?

A: 6, minimum. The amount of chapters is unknown. I would like to go beyond Part 6, but if K.K. doesn't feel like it, then the series would end after Part 6. It will probably depend on our fan base.
